Before you arrange a test drive

Confirm the decoded year, make and model match the car you are looking at.
Check the VIN with NHTSA or the manufacturer. A campaign may cover only certain engines, equipment or production dates within a model year.
Ask an authorized dealer about outstanding work, parts availability and any customer programs outside the recall search. Ask the seller for documentation of completed repairs.

Take Do not drive and Park outside instructions seriously: read the campaign and contact the manufacturer or dealer for vehicle-specific instructions before driving. An over-the-air remedy may be delivered as a software update; its presence in a notice does not confirm that the car has received it.
